Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow Ombre in Addictive Review

Hello again!

Today I'm doing a little review of my most recent eyeshadow palette purchase, which is the Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow Ombre in Addictive, being the browns and neutrals palette.

I am an avid wearer of neutral eyeshadows, so I wanted to invest in a nice and compact palette that I could use for multiple different looks. There are 4 shades, shadow 1: a slightly shimmery nude, shadow 2: a shimmery light taupe, shadow 3: a more metallic dark taupe and shadow 4: a matte chocolate brown. I think the darker they get, the more pigmented they are, which I don't mind but it may annoy some people with the variation in pigmentation.

My everyday look with this palette is to put shadow 2 all over my lids and shadow 1 in my inner corners and brow bone, and my going out look with this palette is to do the everyday look, but add shadow 3 on the outer half of my lids and put shadow 4 in my crease, which is similar to the look on the back of the palette that they recommend for you.

I like that this quad has a variation of textures, being shimmery, to metallic, to matte, and I like that there are lots of different looks you can achieve using it. The quality is pretty good for what you pay for as well.

I hope you enjoyed today's post! I wish you all a very happy new year, and you will be hearing a lot more from me in 2015!

Taylor Swift Incredible Things Perfume

Hello there!

Today I have a super exciting post, because I was given two bottle of the new Taylor Swift perfume for Christmas and it is nothing short of magical and incredible (get it? get it?)! Being a huge Taylor Swift fan, I have had all her perfumes and I have to say, this one is my favourite so far. This is almost like an unboxing/first impressions type post, which is kind of new for me, so I hope you enjoy!

I am no professional at deciphering scents, but what I get from this is that it's a lot warmer, richer and very vanilla based, which is a change from her other fragrances. I adore vanilla, so this is just my holy grail of perfumes right now. It lasts pretty well, which I didn't find with her one or two of her previous perfumes.
The bottle is just gorgeous as well, and I think the illustration of Taylor on the box it comes in is just beautiful.

I feel like this scent would appeal to a lot of people, it isn't too strong and it's very feminine. I am definitely going to be addicted to this scent for a long time.

Have you smelt her new fragrance yet? Do you like it? I'd love to interact with you guys in the comments! P.S. are you proud of my shots in natural lighting? Go me!

L'Occitane Irresistible Luxury Gift Box

Hello yet again! It's a two blog post kind of day!

I received this for Christmas and I'm really keen to show off how sweet it is. I haven't really tried any of these products, but I love L'Occitane even though I can't pronounce it (my Australian accent doesn't make it sound as nice as it is unfortunately!), but I thought you might like to see the miniatures that come in this set.

The first thing you smell are the Neroli & Orchidee Eau De Toilette and Body Milk (I don't know how to put in the right punctuation. Oops).

The scent is so feminine and one of the less, how can I describe it, "earthy", smells that are available from L'Occitane, not that those scents are bad, I'm just drawn to sweeter scents. The smell of these is as if you were to smell a fresh bouquet, it is lovely.

The only product I've tried so far is the Amande Delicious Hands Hand Cream, which contains Almond Milk.
I actually really dislike the smell of almond products and anything marzipan tasting or smelling, but this smells really good to me, so that must say something. It soaked into my hands at a nice pace, I always feel that things that soak in too fast must not be working.

Another product in this set is the Amande Shower Oil.
I have never tried a shower oil, so I'm excited to try this out but I hope I get at least two washes out of this tiny bottle. It also doesn't have a bad marzipan like smell.

The next product is the Ultra Rich Shower Cream, and this sounds decadent and lovely, and I think if I like this I might buy a full size one, as my skin is very dry.
It has a very classic smell which I think most people will like.

The last product is the Precious Cream, which I have heard about but never tried.

It says to apply it to your face and neck, but I have quite nasty acne right now, so maybe I'll just put it on my neck for now. This product smells quite "earthy", but it's not a bad smell. I love how tiny and cute the sample size is!

So that's what is in the L'Occitane Irresistible Luxury Gift Box, I don't know if they'll be making it next year, but it's a really good present. I do apologise for the bad lighting again, as I said in my last post, I'll experiment and see what is better soon!

I'm sorry this post is going up on Boxing Day, but I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and got amazing presents, and if you don't celebrate Christmas I hope you are just having a wonderful holiday!

Wantable December Box

Hello everyone!
I hope you are all having a wonderful festive season! Today I'm going to be reviewing the Wantable December box I received a little while ago, I have had a chance to try everything out and I must say I'm really impressed.

I decided to try out Wantable because I watched cutiepiemarzia's youtube video. Wantable is a subscription service, where you fill in a questionnaire and they send you products to try out that they think you will like. I received 4 items, and most of them appear to be full sized. Unfortunately I lost the card which tells you how much money you saved, so I'm sorry!

Lord & Berry Eyeshadow in Nude Rose

I love this product, I've never owned a loose pigment type eyeshadow before, and this one is perfect for me. I only ever wear nude and neutral shades, nothing really bright or grey/black toned, and this shade is shimmery, subtle and a really light brown shade. I do use a shimmery cream eyeshadow underneath, but it hasn't creased on me so far. It's been a part of my daily routine I like it so much.

Spellbound Nail Lacquer in Legend

I've had this nail polish on for about 3 days now, and I really love the colour and how opaque it is (I only had to use one coat and it wasn't streaky), but it did promise to be chip proof, and it wasn't really. I am notorious for picking my nail polish, and this one didn't last long unfortunately. It's a gorgeous forest green with a silver metallic glitter through it. I still think it's a great nail polish despite how long it lasted on my nails.

Lip Radiance by Melanie Mills in Unstoppable

This product is almost like a lipstick crossed with a lip gloss, but is more on the gloss side. I think it's quite an orange based red, it does look quite orange if you blot it. I think it's reasonably long lasting and it isn't really sticky or hard to wear or apply. It's a nice and easy thing to just throw in your bag, but you will need a mirror to apply it.

Vincent Longo Diamond Body Spray in Gold

I think this is the cutest thing, it takes me back to childhood days of being able to wear glitter anywhere. It does tend to go everywhere when you spray it, but that just adds to the magic. I really adore the old fashioned squeeze application and how petite and sweet it is. It is gorgeous!

I do apologise that my photos are usually taken in artificial lighting, I don't really have a good setup and I usually blog in my bedroom, which is badly lit. I need to find the time to find a good place and maybe I need to invest in proper lighting!
So there's my review! It's obvious all the products are very Christmas related, and I can say I did wear them all during the Christmas period and they were all really nice. I used to be subscribed to other beauty box services, but I think the Wantable service had the best quality out of any I've tried.

Priceline Haul

Hello again!

It's been a while I've felt like I have a worthy enough topic to blog about, but the other day I picked up a few products from Priceline and thought I would share them with you all.

Edward Beale Hi-Lite Brite Shampoo and John Frieda Sheer Blond Colour Renew Tone-Correcting Conditioner

First of all I bought myself a new shampoo and conditioner, as about two weeks about I had my hair dyed a bit blonder and as it is summer, my hair is more subject to going an odd colour because of the sun and chlorine. I haven't tried any products from either of these brands, but they both smell really nice, the Edward Beale shampoo smelling of lavender. Both of these products have a purple tint, which if you aren't aware is supposed to combat yellowing and brassiness when your hair has been bleached.

L'Oreal False Lash Architect Waterproof Mascara

I have come to truly love this mascara, despite how hard it is to remove. I think it's definitely my new favourite mascara. I ran out of my last tube so I picked up another one, and it isn't very expensive which is really great.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush

I haven't used dry shampoo in forever, but lately my hair has been getting kind of greasy about a day after I've washed it. This is my favourite scent out of the few I have smelt.

Nivea Stress Protect Anti-Perspirant

As a person who has unbelievable amounts of anxiety, having a deodorant that adapts to changes in my stress levels is a must. This one smells quite neutral and nice, not overpowering, and doesn't end up going stale really fast which is also really helpful if you are out and you can't reapply.

So there we go! A little haul of essential beauty items for me. Stay tuned for more blog posts!

Review : Annie's Way Aloe Anti-Acne Jelly Mask

Hello there!

A nice quick review today! Today I decided to review the Annie's Way Aloe Anti-Acne Jelly Mask, as I know CutiePieMarzia and bubzbeauty who I love on Youtube are both fans of Annie's Way, and I have been having pretty awful skin right now, so I bought the Acne mask hoping it would help me out.

I think this product is lovely, I love the aloe smell and how cooling it is for the hot weather, especially when you stand under the air conditioning like I like to do. The jelly feels really nice on the skin, and it's pretty fun to apply with the little spatula I was sent along with the product. It feels like your face is a cake and you're icing yourself, which I find extremely fun. The product does dry a tin bit in areas where it isn't applied in a thick layer, but it isn't uncomfortable apart from that.

I honestly haven't been using it for long enough to say that it has changed my skin dramatically, but I'm sure if my skin gets sensitive after a swim or extended periods of sun exposure it should help with cooling and calming it back down again. It contains nice ingredients such as sea weed, hyaluronic acid and of course aloe, so it is calming but does it's job.

I bought mine on Yesstyle, it wasn't super expensive and there is a lot of product in the tub.

I think this is a great product and there are so many different variations of it that I would love to try out. I've got my eye on the honey one, the lavender one and the rose one!

November Favourites

It's finally nearly December! Time for my November favourites!

1. Dove Foaming Make Up Remover

This product is really good at taking off face makeup, but with mascara it can be a bit hard to remove. I like how it feels on my skin, and I like that it lathers up nicely. I like that it has a hygienic pump. Overall, a nice product!

2. Reef After Sun Repair Gel

Since it's getting a lot hotter and I'm going swimming and outdoors more often, have an after sun care product is an essential. I got this one for free at a surf shop, and I like that it's a super quick dry gel rather than a cream, because you can apply lots of cooling layers. The scent is quite nice, I'm not even going to try and pinpoint it, but it's a nice minty, aloe kind of smell.

3. Tony Moly Mini Bunny Hand Cream

This little hand cream was a last minute buy on Yesstyle, and I'm really glad I picked it up. It's the perfect size for handbags and the smell is a really nice subtle floral. It isn't really greasy and it dries pretty quickly. The packaging is also super sweet, so it's all round just a really nice product to have for on the go.

4. L'Oreal False Lash Architect Mascara in Waterproof

I mentioned this product in my Daily Face post, and it has honestly grown on me so much since I've paid attention to what it does. It contains fibres, as I was not aware of, so it really extends my lashes and makes them nice and dark. It is quite hard to get off, especially with the aforementioned make up foam remover, but the results are worth it.

5. The Body Shop Glazed Apple Eau De Toilette

I haven't had this all month, but it smells SO GOOD! I am absolutely in love with the Christmas scents from The Body Shop and I'm hoping to get some things for Christmas. If you haven't already, I highly recommend going in and having a smell!

So there we have it! A few of my favourites from November! I hope you're all as excited for December as I am!

My Daily Face

Hello everyone! Very long time and no see! School has absolutely swamped me and honestly I totally forgot how much fun I have blogging. I started a new blog : http://styleiridescence.blogspot.com.au/ if anyone is interested. It's been over two years since I last posted on this blog! Sorry everyone!

So tonight, while I can't sleep and I feel overly productive, I thought I would show you what I like to put on my face on a daily basis. I don't necessarily love all these products, but it's just the routine I've recently gotten into. Enjoy!
P.S. I do apologise if the lighting is bad and doesn't do the products justice. I'm a night owl.

Simple Spotless Skin Anti-Blemish Moisturiser
This product I think it quite nice, it's light, doesn't leave an oily feeling on my face but because I have such awful skin it tends to dry it out a bit. Other than that, it's a nice daily moisturiser and the smell isn't too bad considering it have zinc in it.

Revlon New Complexion Oil Control Makeup
I have to say, this makes my skin a thousand times oilier than it already is. I usually love Revlon face makeup, but this one is quite disappointing. I like that it's SPF 20, but that's probably the only upside to this product. Whenever I touch my face, it goes everywhere and I really have to load up on powder for it to look dewy. Don't recommend this for people with oily skin, but for now I can handle it so I haven't wasted my money. I have the shade 02 Buff and it suits my skin tone well.

Bourjois Bronzing Powder + Highlighter Duo
I am currently really liking this product, that's why mine looks so mangled. I think it can be layered and the shimmer in it is nice and subtle. Of course, the smell is amazing and I don't even like chocolate that much (don't hate me..). The highlighter side doesn't seem to do that much, but I'm not a regular user of highlighter. I'm not sure if it comes in different shades, but mine says 55 on the cover.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
My staple powder that I'll buy forever. I have the shade 001 Transparent and I love that you don't have to match your powder colour to your foundation colour with this and it doesn't make you look like a ghost in photos. A must for any drug store makeup user.

Ladykin Real Like Innateline Eyebrow Stick
I like this product, but I do have to say I didn't pick the right shade for me. I chose Dark Brown but I should've gone for a lighter shade. I can get away with using this product however as you can apply it really lightly and still get a nice look. I like that it have a spoolie on one end, very helpful.

L'Oreal False Lash Architect Waterproof Mascara
I think this mascara does great things for my lashes, it makes them look slightly longer and nice and dark, but the formula is slightly clumpy and the brush doesn't help this. It's also incredibly hard to get off more so than any other waterproof mascara I've used, I don't use regular mascara as I'm prone to hayfever and just being a sensitive soul. I think it's nice but there are equally great mascaras at better prices.

Lip Products : Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm and Burt's Bees Lip Balm
These two products are my go to easy application school lip colours. The Covergirl one (in a colour I can't remember, it's got berry in the name though) adds a nice fresh touch to my makeup, but does tend to dry up after a little while. It's easy to apply though and doesn't smudge and budge. The Burt's Bees lip balm is one of the best lip balms I've owned. I have owned the peppermint and mango variations, but I really love the smell coconut and pear makes, I never knew they could smell so lovely together. It's very smooth and hydrating and doesn't disappoint.

Brushes I Use : Real Techniques
(From Front to Back Pictured)
Unfortunately my editing program cut off the ends of the brushes. Sorry!
For my powder I use the lovely fluffy multi task brush. I just adore big fluffy brushes that are fun to use and make your face look even and light, not cakey.
For my liquid foundation I use the buffing brush which I am so happy I invested in. It helps my makeup to look much more flawless and blended.
For my bronzer I use the setting brush, which probably isn't the best brush to use for this but I find it is easier to use in the bronzer and it doesn't touch the highlighter when I'm getting the product on my brush. I will definitely invest in a larger bronzer brush in the future, but for now this works just fine.

So there you have it! My daily face, I hope you found some things you might want to try out.
