It has been a very long time since I've blogged, and I'm sorry about that, my life has been a bit different and I finished year 12, so I got a bit caught up in stuff. But I'm back today to review this gorgeous Tarte palette!
The Tarte Rainforest After Dark Colored Clay Eye & Cheek Palette, apart from being a mouthful, is available on sephora.com.au at $65 AUD. I've never shopped on Sephora's semi-new website available to Australians, so of course I had to spend a ridiculous amount of money the first time I did. This palette however, is a really good price for what you get. It contains 9 different products in a nice compact. I bought this because I'll be travelling a bit this year and didn't want to have to take lots of full sized individual products. I also really like the tones of the eyeshadows, because I'm starting to venture away from brown nudes into the plum/pink territory.
The palette includes:
Colored Clay Bronzer in Park Ave Princess
Colored Clay Highlighter in Champagne
Colored Clay Blush in Unleashed
6 Coloured Eyeshadows in Exclusive Shades
The eyeshadow colours, from left to right in the palette are:
Bare to Explore - a matte pinky taupe colour
Make a Mauve - a shimmery purple mauve shade
Plum Away with Me - a shimmery deep plum purple
Up to No Gold - a metallic true gold
Tan-gled Up in You - a matte tan brown
Don't Turn A-Brown - a deeper matte smoky brown
I used 2 of the eyeshadows and all the cheek products yesterday, and I have to say I'm really happy and impressed. The eyeshadows are nicely pigmented and soft, so they blended well. The highlighter was subtle but gave a nice golden glow, and the bronzer was a really good colour for my skin tone and blended well too. The blush was a bit sheer, so it took a while to build up the colour, but it's a nice neutral shade. I own another Tarte blush, and I really recommend them.
So for $65, you get a really nice range of colours in the eyeshadows so you can create a wide range of looks, and the perfect cheek combo. There is a double sided eye tutorial included with the product, which is pretty nice as well. The products are smooth and good quality, and aren't stingily small. The mirror is also a nice size. This palette is perfect for travel, as it is so versatile and compact.
