Manny MUA x Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Palette

Hi everyone!
Hope you're all doing well, today I'm going to show you the Manny MUA x Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Palette. I was so excited when I saw this was back in stock so I nabbed one. It has 9 shades, mostly warm toned, which are the only colours I really wear, so that was another reason to be excited.
The palette is a really nice size, has a nice big mirror and the shadows are a pretty good size too. I've used this palette maybe 4 or 5 times now, and I'm addicted. I've swatched it for you, sorry I didn't do the greatest job, but you can see that the colours are very pigmented. The lighter colours are very buttery. I will say I've only used the shadows from the top 2 rows, but hopefully soon I can work the bottom 3 into some looks. The 3 shades I have gravitated to the most are Artemis (Top Left), which is a shimmery cream shade, I love this all over the lid or in the inner corner and brow bone, Beaches & Cream (Top Centre), which is an amazing transition shade and is a darker matte cream shade, and the last shade I love to use is Sora (Middle Centre), which is like a darker, more orangey brown colour, perfect for deepening the crease up. The other day I felt brave and used Cosmopolitan (Middle Left) all over my lid and it blended so nicely, I was very impressed.
Overall, I have to say this is definitely going to be a palette I gravitate to, it's well made and all the colours are gorgeous. Manny and Makeup Geek have done an amazing job!

Beauty I Loved Overseas

Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I've blogged and it's because I've been to Japan! I went for just under 2 weeks, and it was so humid and hot, the opposite of the weather where I live right now, so I thought I would share some of my favourite products I took with me that turned out to be helpful and handy.

1. Tarte Rainforest After Dark Coloured Clay Eye & Cheek Palette
I did a review of this a while back, and I mentioned how great it would be for travel, and it really was. It was so handy having all my cheek/contour products in one place, I didn't have to rummage around a heavier makeup bag for three individual products. All the powders blended nicely as well, so you don't lose out on quality. This product was just handy and easy, and the mirror is huge too! As you can see from the photo, it's very well loved.

2. Rimmel Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder
I hadn't really used this before this month, and you can see I made a big dent in the product. It set my foundation and concealer well, I didn't look oily or shiny at all and it was so humid. I'm not sure if it's that different from the Stay Matte powder I normally use from Rimmel, but I like this one anyway.

3. Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
This was probably the one product that saved my makeup on the holiday. My makeup didn't run or look gross, it stayed put. This product was also great to just have in my bag for when I wanted to spritz my face to cool it down. It was nice to have something that was cooling and refreshing that I knew wouldn't ruin my makeup. I actually used up the entire 30 ml, and I'll definitely be repurchasing this when the weather gets hotter.

4. Matte Liquid Lipsticks
I normally love long lasting liquid lipsticks, but these two were so good for this holiday. I wanted my lips to have colour and look good, but not get super dried out and look patchy after I ate. I mentioned both of these in my May Favourites. The Manny MUA x OFRA one in Charmed is so moussy and easy to apply and went with so many looks. The Kat Von D lipstick in Lolita II is a little bit browner that the OFRA colour, and I think the formula is a little more long lasting. I loved these two lip products, and they stayed on in the heat and amount of eating and drinking I was doing, which is super impressive.

So there you go! Hope this post was interesting, I had so much fun in Japan and I was so happy I found some products that made my makeup look and stay lovely.

May Favourites 2016

Hi everyone!
I haven't been posting much lately because I've been gearing up to go to Japan in a few days, so I thought before I left I would put up my May Favourites! May went so fast, one minute it was my birthday, the next I was in Melbourne with my boyfriend (and he got his first tattoo!) and now it's June and I'm about to leave! So scary how fast this year is going. Anyway, let's jump into my favourites.

1. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita II
I'd never tried any Kat Von D products, but I added this last minute to my Sephora basket, and I love this colour. I like that the applicator is quite small so it's easy to apply, it does get a little dry eventually but it's not too bad, and it seriously does last. I wore this a few times on my trip and it lasted pretty much all day, and I'm in love and so impressed. At some point I'll grab some more colours, but I find this browny mauve shade goes with a lot of eye looks I wear and outfits.

2. Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation
I looked at a few reviews on this online both on youtube and blogs, and a lot of people said it's heavy duty stuff. I like that about it though, it doesn't feel that heavy on my skin, and I find it really covers up my acne scarring which I'm self conscious about. I got the shade Light 42 which is the fairest colour, and it is a little too light for me, which is something I can say I've never experienced, but once I add bronzer and blush it's not a bad match. It lasted really well throughout the day too. I'm taking this to Japan because I'm hoping it's not going to just come off my skin in the heat. Also, may I add, I wish Kat Von D was my friend, she is so cool, and some of her products are named after my favourite authors etc. She's amazing.

3. OFRA x Manny MUA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Charmed
I absolutely adore Manny, I think he's hilarious, sweet and talented so of course I wanted to grab one of these. I chose Charmed because I felt like I would wear it the most, and I definitely have worn the crap out of this product. I like the formula a tiny bit more than the Kat Von D liquid lipstick, because it's more moussey, moisturising and it smells like cake or something delicious. This product also lasts a really long time and is easy to apply. I think Manny has done an amazing job. I just bought his collaboration palette with Makeup Geek, so I'm excited to show it to you guys.

4.Colourpop Kaepop Super Shock Shadow in Sunset Blvd
I splashed out for my birthday and got a bunch of Colourpop stuff, and I'm so impressed with the formula for eyeshadow and cheek products. This colour is in collaboration with Karrueche, and it's stunning. I've seen a few photos online and it looks lighter online than in person, it is a bit sheer too, but it's not a bad thing.  It's a really pretty bronzey gold, and I wore this on my birthday and it added some fun to my eye look. I love how buttery it is, very impressed!

5. Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Lunch Money
This is another super buttery Colourpop product, and it's so gorgeous. It creates an amazing sheen on my cheeks, and I just apply it with my finger because I find that it's easiest to blend that way. I did try it as an eyeshadow by applying with a brush and it weirdly didn't work and was patchy, but was amazing on my cheeks, nose and cupids bow. I would recommend giving the Colourpop cheek and eye products a try if you have the money to spend (cough cough.. waste) on the extortionate shipping cost. There are so many shades to choose from.

So there you guys go! Hope you have a wonderful May and you have a happy June!

Sephora Haul + First Impressions

Hey guys!
Today I'm doing a Sephora Haul, I didn't get a huge amount of stuff but I got enough to constitute a haul! I shopped on the online store. I purchased 4 items, shipping was semi-fast, all the products were in bubble wrap and my order was correct, so I was a happy bunny.

1. Zoeva Brushes
After purchasing the 101 Luxe Face Definer and the 227 Luxe Soft Definer brushes, which I mentioned in a previous post, I had to get a few more! They're gorgeous and rose gold. I got the 222 Luxe All Over Shader, which is flat and big, great for a sweep of colour. I also got the 225 Luxe Eye Blender, which is small, dome shaped and fluffy, great for defining the crease. I love the look of these brushes and they apply product really nicely, but I have found with my other two brushes that some of the hair tend to stick out an get bent after a few uses, basically, the brush loses it's shape. I don't mind however, if they still do they're job, and I find myself reaching for them quite often despite this factor.

2. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation
I am so happy Tarte is available online on Sephora, because I seriously love this brand. I have been using the Too Faced Born This Way and Nars Sheer Glow foundations lately, and after seeing a few reviews online I decided to give this one a whirl. I chose the colour Fair Sand, which I think is the lightest colour and has a yellow undertone. Swatching it on my hand, I found it was quite thick in consistency, but I haven't actually tried it out yet. I'm hoping it will apply easily with a beauty blender. I love the packaging, and it just has a light makeup scent to it. I'm excited to try this out!

3. Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lovecraft
I've always wanted to try something from Kat Von D, and I decided a lipstick would be a nice start. I chose this colour as I don't really own anything like it, it's a matte nude/pink/brown shade, and I adore it. I wore it to work today for a few hours and it didn't feel too drying or uncomfortable, but I do think it would need to be touched up if you wore it for a long time. The packaging is ok, I like the studded feel but the exterior does feel a little plastic-y, I was hoping for something with more weight, but I love how the lipstick itself has KVD stamped into it. I can overlook the packaging if the product itself is good, and I'm really enjoying this formula and colour so far.
There you guys go, my little Sephora haul! Hope you're all having a wonderful week, it's starting to get cold here, I'm excited!

Mini Essentials Haul

Hi guys!
Hope you like my blog update, I've changed the theme and name, I'm not sure if I'll keep it so far but I'll see how it goes. Anyway, today I'm doing a little essentials haul, as I just popped into the supermarket for a few things so I thought I'd show you what I got and why!

1. Thankyou Botanical Rosehip & Sweet Orange Hand Cream
My hands have been especially dry lately as I find myself using hand sanitiser a lot at work. I was just after something that sounded moisturising and wasn't too pricey. I grabbed this one, because it looked like a less expensie version of a higher end skin care item. The packaging is really nice, and apparently with this brand, some of the profits go towards hygiene and sanitation projects for people in need, which is awesome. It has a really natural scent, with orange as the main smell which is refreshing. It's not very thick, so I could take it to work and put some on without worrying I'll have to wipe it off if I need to use my hands.

2. Neutrogena Night Calming Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes
These have been my favourite makeup wipes for a long time, as I find they have a nice scent, don't break me out, remove my makeup properly and I don't find myself having to scrub at my face for them to work. I definitely recommend these wipes to anyone with slightly more sensitive skin like mine.

3. Rexona Clinical Protection Antiperspirant Deodorant in Summer Strength
I picked this up on a whim a while back, because I have had bad experiences with clinical type deodorants in the past but my Nivea one wasn't working so well. I find that a lot of clinical deodorants can dry up and go white, and stick to your skin in clumps which is gross and sometimes embarrassing, but this one is really good. I had a day of work, then exercised, and I didn't smell bad at the end of it. The scent is really nice too, so I grabbed another one of these while I was shopping just to stock up because they were on sale.

So there you guys go, just a quick little haul, nothing too exciting, but I hope you enjoyed it!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

Hey guys!
I just bought myself the Canon G9X, and so I wanted to review something quickly but use photos I took with the camera to compare the quality to my regular DSLR pictures. So today I'm quickly going to talk about the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, as it has become my favourite over the past 6 months or so.
I first purchased this product to use for my school formal, as I wanted a higher end product to cover my acne scarring. I wear the lightest colour in Chantilly (Light 1), as I find it highlights my face in the right areas, is perfect for my under eyes and conceals without highlighting redness. It may not work as well for people with a less ghostly complexion, but they have a pretty good range of shades.
The formula is creamy, as it says in the name, so it blends beautifully. I find that a lot of creamy type concealers can be hard to apply and end up ruining your foundation. It has the ease of application much like a liquid concealer but a firmer texture like a cream stick concealer. I feel like it needs to be set however, as it can feel like it's going to slide around if you apply a slightly heavier amount. For formal I applied a few layers of this and it covered up everything I needed it to, but I apply a thinner layer for everyday wear and it does the job. It has a decent amount of product considering the price tag as well.
I really enjoy this product and have repurchased it once and can see myself going back for it in the future.
Hope you guys like the way the photos turned out! Talk soon!

April Favourites 2016

Hello all!
I'm getting in early this month to share my favourites with you guys. I'm excited to show you a couple of things I've really been loving and using constantly.

1. Tarte Champagne Highlighter
This is one of the products from the Rainforest After Dark palette that I reviewed earlier this month, and it's honestly one of the first highlighters I've ever tried and liked. It's not too in you face, but still gives an amazing glow. I use it on the tops of my cheeks, down my nose, on my brow bone and on my non-existent cupid's bow. I find that putting highlighter there has helped my lips to look a little more shapely, as the aren't really. I am loving this product, and really enjoy putting it on because it just takes my makeup up a notch and completes my look. I've also had quite dry skin lately, and this helps to make my face look less flat and more healthy.

2. Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette
I treated myself to this earlier this month, and it's pretty much been the only eyeshadow I've been using. The packaging and scent are amazing, and the eyeshadows blend really nicely and the shade selection is gorgeous. My two favourite shades have been Satin Sheets, which is a pinky gold sort of shade, and Sprinkles, which is a subtle baby pink, something I never thought I would wear but I actually love. There's a good mixture of matte shades and shimmers. I also find the colour Divinity, a matte light cream really useful. So happy I picked this palette up!

3. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface
I picked this up while I was at Sephora in Sydney a few months ago, and it's been my favourite blush since. The colour goes with every look I wear, it doesn't have any shimmer and the formula is smooth and easy to apply. It's buildable which I like, because you can't go overboard really quickly. I definitely recommend you try this out if you love blush.

4. OGX Hair Conditioners
For the past couple of months, I've been trying out different versions of the OGX conditioners. I've tried the blue argan oil one and the brown moroccan oil one, and recently picked up this biotin and collagen version. My hair has felt so much healthier and softer than it did when it was long (I got a bit haircut in January) and I feel like these conditioners have been helping it to stay that way. I always buy them when they're on special, as they can be a bit expensive, but after trying them I would be willing to pay for them at full price. There are so many varieties as well, I think I tried a cherry blossom scent in the past and it was amazing. Love this brand.

5. Not Your Mother's Beat the Heat Thermal Shield Spray
When I was at the supermarket I just randomly picked this product up after running out my old heat spray. I've been enjoying this one, as it's not too sticky and it leaves my hair nice and soft when I've blow dryed. It does leave a semi-strong scent after you've used it, but I actually quite like how it smells so I don't mind. It's easy to use and it works!
Thanks for reading my lovelies! Hopefully you found something you'd like to try out! I'm excited for May because it's my birthday month and I have a holiday planned, do you have any plans for May? Let me know in the comments below!

Lush Golden Egg Review

Hello there!
I went to Lush a few weeks back and bought the Golden Egg and saved it to do a review and also because it's impressive looking. It's an Easter product, but they may still have some online or leftovers in store, I can imagine they'll have this next year.
It doesn't quite say if it's a bath bomb or melt, but when I popped it in the bath, it slowly fizzed down. All the gold glitter came off instantly and it was left looking like I'd put a potato in the bath! The bath water turned an almost fluorescent yellow and the gold glitter gathered into little circles on the surface. It's been about a week and a half since I used this and I'm still finding gold glitter! It's fun to look at but it's a bit of a nightmare to wash off. The guy at Lush told me to shower after using this product, but that seemed like a pointless bath to me. Why use the product so you can wash it off instantly. So yes, I donned glittery skin for a few hours, which was fun actually!
The product smelt nice and was mildly moisturising, but with my eczema, it wasn't the best for my skin. It says it contains cocoa butter and wild orange oil, but I didn't find it very moisturising, I'm not sure why. I think it was just a product more for show than skin benefits.

Overall I thought it was fun, it wasn't my favourite lush bath product, and it wasn't as impressive as it looked, but it was worth a try and smelt nice.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour Review

Hi all!
Today I thought I'd do a little mini review of this new lip product I picked up the other day. This is the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour, and I got it in the berry purple colour called Addiction.
I'm a big fan of matte lip products, so I was excited to try this when I heard about it online. The colour pay off is amazing, and the applicator is easy to use. It's a nice consistency, and isn't super drying like some matte products. It starts off a little bit glossy, but dries over time but still feels comfortable. I was drinking a coffee today with it on and although so of it came off, the colour was still bold and I didn't get a weird ring around the outside of my lips like I sometimes get after eating or drinking with lipstick on. The only tiny downside is the smell, it is a bit sickly sweet and fake, but it's not very noticeable after you've had it on for a few minutes.
Here's what the colour looks like on:
So if you're in the market for a matte lip product that isn't really dehydrating, give this one a go!
