MUA Pretty Pastels Palette!

Second review of today! Let's do it! So I'm going to review the MUA Pretty Pastels Palette.

I like this palette, it has a nice selection of colours and is very affordable. I got mine on eBay as MUA is a UK brand. The colours are reasonably pigmented for the price and you can subtly wear colour in a fun way. I usually just use these as either a all over the lid colour or as inner corner highlight. My favourite colour is probably the pink second from the left at the top. It's going to look really nice for spring and really brightens your eyes.
So overall, a nice, affordable palette that's great for spring/summer. I think I'll try out some other MUA palettes as I know they have a nice neutrals one

Essence vs Maybelline:Cream Eyeshadows

Hello all! Today's review is going to be on the comparison between the Essence cream eyeshadows and the Maybelline Colour Tattoos. Let's jump in!
To start off, I'd like to tell you which colours I own. The Essence one is a Ballerina Backstage eye souffle in Pas Des Copper which with my fantastic French skills (lol jokes google translate) means not copper. I have no idea why they called it that, maybe because it's actually brown haha..
Anyway, the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo I own is in Bold Gold, a pretty self explanatory name.

The Essence one is very squishy and smooth, whereas the Maybelline one is harder and isn't as creamy. I like the consistency of the Essence one better just because it's easier to apply, but I think the Maybelline one lasts longer on your eyelid but also lasts longer in the pot as your not using it as fast.
The Maybelline one is also a lot more vivid and has more shimmer.

I prefer the Maybelline one, because even though it's more expensive, there are more colours to choose from and you get more product out of it. The Essence one is worth checking out though, that's if they are still selling it!

Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Waterproof Mascara Review!

Hello all! Well, hasn't it been a long time! Sorry to leave you hanging, but life has been a bit hectic for the past couple of months, i.e. overseas travel, ridiculous amounts of homework etc. But here I am ready to review one of my recent purchases.
So, today I'm going to review a mouthful of a product, the Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Waterproof Mascara, mine is in the colour Blackest Black.
I bought this mascara just as something new to try out, in Australia Revlon isn't exactly cheap, so I thought I'd splurge a little.
Overall, it's an reasonable mascara, nice volume and lots of length. Not very well demonstrated in the photo below, sorry haha.  It can look a bit clumpy or like it's made out of fibres if you get what I mean. Maybe that's jus the waterproofness.

The major flaw in this mascara is the brush. It's ENORMOUS. Shown in the unflattering (lol scary) second photo, you can see how huge it is. It's also an awkward shape for the size, it's just straight with a tapered edge, so you can't really see where you're applying it.

So it's an alright product, maybe not a repurchase though. And I hope that was helpful and you aren't too off-put by my horrifically unplucked eyebrows hahaha, I'll get onto them soon don't you worry!

Ciate Nail Polish Review!

Hello all! It's been yonks since I last blogged, I've been lazy and busy and swamped with homework. The joys of high school.
Anyhow, today I' going to review the nail polish brand Ciate. Yes I know they have a little thing above the e, but I'm too lazy to try to find it haha.
I own three of the polishes, I purchased them on Beauty Bay.

I own Oil Slick, Sugared Almonds and Apples and Custard. The pink and green are both creams and the Oil Slick colour is a duochrome I guess you could say, the type of colour you can get on cars.
Oil Slick is such a cool colour, I've had it on my toes for about 2 months. It's mainly gold, but then it has a blue and green duochrome. It's streaky when you apply it but it doesn't chip very easily and you could possibly get away with one coat.
Sugared Almonds is the most amazing pinky nude.  You look so chic when you wear it and it's very flattering. I find it hard to get properly opaque though, you can sort of still see your nail after 3 coats, I don't mind though because it's so nice. It chips quite badly though, which is a bit of a bummer. I definitely recommend this colour if you are looking at getting a Ciate polish though.

The colour I'm wearing at the moment is Apples and Custard. It's a sort of milky green, which sounds awful but it's actually a nice colour. The cream polishes from Ciate are absolutely dreamy, they are so smooth and creamy, but they do chip badly. I used 2 coats and it's a bit more opaque than Sugared Almonds. I wouldn't usually go for a colour like this, it's very unusual, but I'm glad I chose it. I'm wearing with a Cutex top coat for extra shine, hopefully it'll last a bit longer.

A few extra points, they come with adorable bows on them, attached with an elastic. Weirdly the pink colour had the bow glued to the front, no elastic. I also broke the one on the green colour haha, as you can see in the first photo. I also bought the Sugared Almonds colour because Fleur from fleurdeforce loves it. I'm a huge fan of hers hahaha.

I really do recommend these polishes and the Ciate brand, they are nice and a break from brand such as OPI and Essie.
Thank you for reading!

OPI Absolutely Alice Review

Back again for a super quick review of OPI Absolutely Alice!
I have hardly worn this polish because you have to apply 3-4 coats and I get bored just applying 2. It does look nice over the top of other polishes though.

It is basically a clear polish with loads of blue and gold glitter floating about in it. The bits of blue glitter are bigger than the gold but the gold gives it such a glamorous feel. I think it looks amazing in the bottle but you really have to work with it.

I really like this polish, I just think that it's a bit too much work and can just end up looking undone on it's own.

Rimmel Vinyl Gloss Review

Hello all! Today I thought I would review the Rimmel Vinyl Gloss because I have been wondering if I should get this for a long time and I thought hey, why not. So here we are, let us begin.
I really wanted an easier way to wear red on my lips, so I gave the colour 'Be Dazzled' a shot. There was another colour which was a bright pink with bluey shimmer in it that I really liked, so I might pick that one up in the future. Anyway, I really like the colour it gives to my lips, it's very buildable so you can have just a nice sheen of colour or a more vibrant red look. I like the texture but it is a little sticky, but it's not a major flaw. The glitter in it is super pretty and isn't all in your face and doesn't take away from the colour.
The applicator doesn't pick up very much product though, which means you do have to keep dipping it back in to get a good amount. It's alright though because it means you really control how much you apply.
It's also sort of thick which gives it the 'vinyl' appearance. I feel kind of special wearing it and using actually, the tube is quite large and you feel all sort of grown-up applying it. It helps me look a little bit more put together and done up which is always a pro. It smells of strawberries as well.

Sorry about the swatch, not my greatest and yes, I do have hair on my hands haha.

So overall, I'm very glad I bought this lip gloss and will definitely try out different colours in the future!
Au revoir!

Makeup for School

Hey guys! As you may or may not know, I am a teenager, meaning I go to school, so I know a thing or two about what to wear on a daily basis face-wise. I thought I would share with you a few of my daily beauty products for school days!

Face

BB cream. Yes, I know, you're probably tired of me banging on about it, but it's the perfect school makeup product. I mean, they usually have SPF, they give you a nice amount of coverage and are fool-proof to apply. Having samples of them is great because you can just chuck them in your bag and reapply during the day. Woohoo!

Blush isn't necessary, but it's nice to add colour to your face on days where you don't have sport. I wouldn't suggest it everyday because you'll probably end up sweating it off, but it can be nice just as a pick me up on those mornings where you stayed up 'til 2am studying.

Eyes

An eyelash curler is a scary looking contraption, but can really do a lot for you, once you get the hang of it of course! Curling your lashes opens those tired eyes up and it's a good idea when you aren't wearing mascara.

Waterproof mascara. Such a good invention! When you're at school, there are so many opportunities for you to cry. You do badly on a test, you get dumped, you get hit in the head with a ball, the list goes on trust me! I like the Maybelline Full and Soft mascara because it's subtle and is good for everyday wear. I think that less is more when it comes to mascara, especially at school.

Lips

Aahh Baby Lips.. where would I be without you? At school there is no need to have lipstick or lip stain. Nothing out-there, sticky or glittery I think. A regular or tinted lip balm are just fine. Easy application without a mirror and moisturising. Perfecto!

So there you go! I hope you got a good idea of what makeup is good for school and that less if definitely more!
Au revoir!

NYX Round Lipsticks Collection/Review

Hello there! Today I felt like finally posting this review on the NYX Round Lipsticks. This review has been in my mind since I bought them. Sorry about the swatches if they aren't the best quality, I'm trying hard to get the hang of things!

The NYX Round Lipsticks are so cheap it's not funny at $2.50 on cherry culture and there are so many colours to pick from. You can get them here by the way: http://www.cherryculture.com/cosmetics/makeup/nyx/nyx-round-lipstick/16605&cat=0&page=1
I happen to own five of them, I chucked one away though because it was horrendous. The thing I really don't like about these is the fact that they are so hit and miss. I only really have one colour that I like and am comfortable wearing but the good thing is is that I don't feel like I'm throwing my money away on high end lipsticks. Hurrah!

Tweed

Tweed is probably my least favourite of the five. It's sort of a pinkish beigy colour with a lot of chunky silver glitter. (Sorry about the crappy describing words haha..) I find this makes me look very scary and the glitter feels awful on the lips. The only time I ever use this is when I get a little bit on my finger and dab it on the centre of my lips on top of another lip colour. It also looks a bit streaky. I definitely don't recommend this one.

Goddess

Goddess is my favourite in my mini collection. The only way I can describe this is as a bronzey rose colour with smaller silver glitter than that in Tweed. I think this colour suits my lips a lot better because my lips are quite pigmented already. You can still feel the glitter a little bit but definitely not as bad as Tweed.

Vitamin

I want to like this lipstick, but it's basically a oranged pink version of Tweed. I think these lipsticks are meant to be frosted but they just end up feeling very drying and gritty. I like the colour but it doesn't suit me and again it is very streaky looking.

B52

This colour was totally not what I expected it to be. The picture of it on cherry culture shows it as medium pinky colour but it's about 4 times as dark. It doesn't have shimmer in it, which is fab, but it's a bit sort of drab and maybe just a wee bit mumsy for me. I can attempt to describe this as a plummy rose colour but the swatch will show you better I think.

Snow White

I really like this colour, very vampy and mysterious. It's a nice sort of deep wine red with no shimmer. The only problem is that I find it hard to apply and get the right amount of colour (which is mainly my fault for not being able to put on dark lipstick without smearing it all over my face) and I don't have the confidence to wear it out. Maybe it would be alright for a fancy dress look or something, but it's just not my kind of red.

The other colour I had was Strawberry Milk, but it looked awful and like I had a milk moustache all over my lips. Quite odd.
The smell of these isn't great but I don't really care too much.
Overall I think this product is alright, but it can be dissapointing when you buy a colour and it has excessive shimmer or is a entirely different colour to what you thought. I'll probably try out some more in the future but for now these will do.

Swatches on my hand: Snow White, B52, Vitamin, Goddess and Tweed.

Anyway, thank you all for reading even though it may have been a pointless exercise. Au revoir! Zoe.

Product Wishlist!

Hello there, how was your day, hope you're doing well! Anyway, today I wanted to try something a little different, not really a review at all.
Having a slight flaw of addiction to shopping, I have decided to try to stop buying things so often, this is going to be a complete failure and I'll just give in, but I thought you all might like to know what products I'm craving and already have on my birthday wishlist...
1. MAC lipsticks in Vegas Volt and Impassioned
 Lipstick Lipstick

I'm having a major lipstick phase at the moment, and I've seen a few youtubers with these colours. I adore Impassioned, but I think that Vegas Volt will look funny on my lips because they are naturally a darkish colour. I have MAC's Creme Cup and it completely washes me out and makes me look as if I left foundation on my lips, perhaps a review of it in the future...

 Images property of MAC.

2. DKNY Sweet Delicious fragrances

I have never owned a DKNY fragrance, but these look amazing. There's Tart Key Lime, Pink Macaroon and Creamy Meringue. I don't know if these are even out yet, and I haven't smelt any of them, but I just think they look and sound so good! Plus one of these babies would look gorgeous on my shelf!

Image property of DKNY.

3. Nail polishes from the new China Glaze Capitol Colours collection

Smoke and Ashes, Electrify, Harvest Moon, Luxe and Lush and Dress Me Up.

Being a fan of the Hunger Games and China Glaze, I am keen to try some of the polishes from the new collection. Most of the glitters appeal to me, but I do like the nudey 'Dress Me Up' colour as well. I think they really chose the selection well and hopefully I can get my hands on some!
Images property of China Glaze.

Lioele Beyond The Solution BB Cream 50ml4. Lioele Beyond The Solution BB Cream
I'd really like to give this a go. I've heard good reviews of it and I wanna try a BB cream from a brand other than Skin79 or Garnier. I like the pump and perhaps we two shall meet in the near future. Hmm...
Image property of amazon.

So I guess that's a wrap folks, are you as excited about these products as I am? Talk to you later!

Au revoir!

Fairy Drops Las Vegas Sweets Platinum Mascara Review!

Hello! Back again, it's been a little while, tres sorry. I'll try to keep this one short and sweet because my battery is running low. Oops.
So today I've decided to review for you the Fairy Drops Las Vegas Sweets Platinum Mascara (Waterproof).
I bought this mascara because I have heard so many rave reviews of the Fairy Drops mascaras, but to be honest, I'm not a fan. For me personally, it's a very thick, dramatically black and hard to work with.
I think the brush is quite cool, but the mascara is, as I said before, a bit too much for me. I find it hard to apply the amount that I want, it always applies a bit much, and it clumps my lashes together uncomfortably. It does give you nice length and I suppose volume, but it's just very conspicuous.

I bought this here: http://www.yesstyle.com.au/en/fairy-drops-las-vegas-sweets-fairy-drops-platinum-mascara-water-proof/info.html/pid.1024381251

I really wanted this to work for me, but it's just not my kind of mascara.

Au revoir!

Review of Skin79 Dream Girls BB Beblesh Balm

Yes, I'm back for more! I should be doing an assignment but heck, it can wait.
I bought this product last year in September and I wore it everyday for about 10 weeks or so on my entire face. I now only use it on my t-zone. It's designed for younger skin and it claims to control oil and is light to medium coverage. I find that it makes my face look a little bit too shiny for my taste and doesn't provide much coverage at all. I love that it has SPF 30 because I am regularly exposed to the sun. It feels a little bit greasy so I always use powder over the top. I use about a pea-sized amount and apply it with my fingers just like with all BB creams.
The colour suits me quite well, but like other Skin79 BB creams it does look a bit grey when you first apply it, but it oxidises so there's no worries. It's very blendable which makes it super easy to apply. I'm not sure about it in the rain, but it's not pleasant if you are sweating etc but it kind of just disappears instead of running or caking. I'm making it sound magic haha but it doesn't bother me too much and I haven't noticed. The smell is a little bit funny but I don't mind it.

I don't think I would repurchase this product and I think it's more of just a very lightly tinted sunscreen rather than a light-medium coverage BB cream.  I think that there are better BB creams out there and you can try it out if you want, but it's not the greatest. I wear this on days where I just want my skin to look slightly less haggard. The packaging and the fact that it is aimed at young skin was the only reason I bought this. I like these sorts of squeezy tubes. :)

I purchased mine here: http://www.yesstyle.com.au/en/skin79-dream-girls-bb-cream-spf-30-pa-purple-43-5g/info.html/pid.1021292414  but it is currently out of stock.

I would recommend trying out the Super Plush Beblesh Balms from Skin79 if you're looking for something with more coverage.

Au revoir!
Zoe.

My first review! MAC Mineralize Blush in Gentle.

Hello everyone (or no one depending on how this blogging thing goes...) ! I'm very excited to start doing reviews on products because I am a beauty fanatic and I love trying out new stuff. Hopefully you won't find me too vague or boring, and maybe you'll discover something fab. Here we go! P.S. I'm probably not the best at describing things, and because something doesn't work out for me, doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a whirl. ;)

In January, my Mum and I were on holiday and as we were walking around the mall, the MAC store caught my eye. Having never gone to MAC, a practically sprinted in there. I looked around and was a bit overwhelmed, but decided on a blush. I picked up a mineralize blush in gentle. My first MAC product!
I have very pasty skin, and although this blush looks very scary in the pan, it looks lovely on. It gives my skin a nice glow. The glitter in it can be visible if you look hard enough, but it's not something I worry about. It looks quite purpley in the pan but comes out a pretty neutral pink colour.
I apologize for the cruddy swatch by the way. I'll try harder next time haha.
The one thing that really bugs me about MAC products is that they cost an arm and a leg in Australia. This cost me around the $43 mark, but in the US they are $23. How ridiculous! This is why eBay has now become my best friend when it comes to MAC. But this blush is showing to be worth the money, I've had it for 3 months now and it still has it's dome shape because you only need to dab your brush in gently. I wear this everyday and I've really been enjoying it.

Anywho, I hoped you enjoyed my first review. (Ooh that rhymed!) If there are any great MAC products that are worth their price, leave me a comment! I would love to know!

Au Revoir!
Zoe.
